  • I'm sorry I have been absent so much lately...I've been spending time on face book...what a network of people!  I also have a little Farm Town that I manage.  That with my grandkids, tutoring,  and other life issues I don't have much time for here and my kids aren't on Xanga much 'cause they switched to FB...and I go where my kids go!  But I will keep up somewhat and I do go see your sites on occasion.
Our biggest news is our 'Florida Four' are moving back to this side of the country!  We are very excited.  In fact they will be joining us in the greater Vancouver area!  So will be very close...I'm lovin' it!  If you see this and feel led we would appreciate your prayers for all the details that are involved...at both ends...and the travel inbetween. (they will be driving pulling a u-haul).
    I am so blessed!

  • George Carlin on aging!
    (Absolutely Brilliant)
IF YOU DON'T READ THIS TO THE VERY END, YOU HAVE LOST A DAY IN YOUR LIFE. AND WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED, DO AS I AM DOING AND SEND IT ON.
    George Carlin's Views on Aging
Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions.
'How old are you?' 'I'm four and a half!' You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five! That's the key.
You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.
'How old are you?' 'I'm gonna be 16!' You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life ! You become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony. YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!
But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're Just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?
You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 and your dreams are gone.
But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would!
So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.
You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!
You get into your 80's and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn't end there. Into the 90s, you start going backwards; 'I Was JUST 92.'
Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. 'I'm 100 and a half!'
May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!
    HOW TO STAY YOUNG
    1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them'
    2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
    3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever, even ham radio. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop' And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.
    4. Enjoy the simple things.
    5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
    6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
    7. Surround yourself with what you love , whether it's family, friends, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
    8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
    9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.
    10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
    AND ALWAYS REMEMBER :
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..
And if you don't send this to at least 8 people - who cares? But do share this with someone. We all need to live life to its fullest each day!!

Next weekend we will have our very 1st "Cousin"s Camp" with the 3 oldest grandkids!

Thursday, 09 July 2009

  • So, this evening we pic up Josh and his family from the airport and head up to Centralia area to go camping with all the family.  we then will go to a Mariner's game on Sunday and end up at Herron Park until Wed.  Josh and fam will come down with us and spend the rest of the week here in Vancouver.  He flies out to Sturgis to work for the motorcycle rally, Kara and the boys will treck back to Puyallup to be with her family and the birth of her sister's baby.
    We are very excited!!!
It has been very stressful for me getting ready for this event.   I had to do my regular tutoring schedule coming off of being gone the previous weekend with stuff to put away, wash, etc.  and packing camping stuff for not only us but Josh's family for the following weekend and getting it all in one car; get the yard weeded, berries picked, lawn mowed and everything watered to last until we get back.  (well actually it didn't get weeded).  Planning menus, grocery shopping, picking up little things here and there we need...like propane for the camp stove!
But today is the day and what gets done gets done and we will leave on time because we don't want to make Josh's family stand around and wait for us after spending all day on an airplane with 2 active 4 yr olds!  That wouldn't be fun!
Thank you for listening to my groan...when I look back someday in the future it won't seem so bad and I will have enjoyed every minute of my time with my kids and grandkids!!!

    Blessings

About Me

  • I, Marilyn Ann Warner Fuqua was married to Dennis George Fuqua for 33 years, 9 months and 27 days when we became Grammer and Gramper on June 2, 2005. We have invested alot into our marriage and are totally delighted with each other, and are very blessed to be US. We have 4 wonderful children, Joshua, the oldest...Angela, the oldest girl is second in line...Andrea comes next, and then there's Joseph. The first three came to us in the natural way children come to a family, and then Joe came to us by way of a God directed adoption. Joshua married Kara Walsh-Bushnell March 1, 2003. Austin James and Ian Michael (identical twins) were born to Josh and Kara on June 2, 2005. Andrea married Keven Baker August 28, 2004. To them was born Merilee Esther on May 31, 2006. Angela married Sean Glorioso September 23, 2005 (at midnight)! and Joseph...well he now is living in West Seattle, managing a cell phone kiosk in a Costco store. I am currently a tutor for students with dyslexia

Pulse

  • Yes, we actually had a white Christmas! Now, my pulse is "brightening" with the anticipation of the arrival of spring!
  • My pulse is quickening with the approach of Christmas and the snow...will we actually have a white Christmas?
